Good luck Keith!
I'd like to second all the above comments. It's a
great site and a really wonderful cause. I'm very
impressed because I couldn't cycle 2 miles, let
alone all that way. I've no doubt that you will
succeed with all your determination and positive
thinking and I look forward to reading your blog!
Very best of luck, fingers crossed.

Feck
Just checked your website and saw the amazing
thing you are doing. Heven't seen you since Fiji
but you are still a skinny fecker - now I know
why. What really pisses me off though is the
fact that I work in Tiverton just down the road
from Mallards where you were today. If only I
had checked my emails earlier I could have been
there to cheer you on. I'll be keeping an eye on
your progress all the way. Best of luck to both
yourself and Connor. Seeing Connor's big smile
makes me wish I was a godfather too.
May you only get punctures at the bottom of your
tyres!

wow look at them knees!!
Your knee looks like Chris's before he went to
China after a few years of floor fitting, they
are a normal size now. Hope it's not too painful.
You are really doing well, I bet it's easier with
company as you can encourage each other, you will
make some friends there for life. Not good news
from us as the house sale fell through but I will
keep you posted. Mike is off in 5 days. Lotsa love
|
Looking Good!
Hate the look of that tent!Where is the en-
suite? You are a star and wishing you all the
best for a successful ride. Stay safe! PS The
subtitute cyclist dropped out of blenhem Tri and
we got a 17 year old flyer (thank God) Your turn
next year!
|
Knee panic knee - Keef
Hope that your knee injury is not too bad,
thinking of you. Well done for rasing £4.5k as
at last Friday....great! Sally and George
|
Man of Steel!
Hi Keef
It's been great reading about your rides - good
on yer mate - you're doing a sterling job.
Doing your sort of mileages each day, even if it
was all downhill, would have me banjaxed! Keep
up the good work.
Cheers
Jo
|
I'm loving your diary and photos. I don't know how
you even have the energy to type - I get tired
just reading it! Sending you knee chi! Love Julia xxx
|
haha!
Julia - he doesn't do the typing!! I do! He phones
me and dictates to me. The speed Keef types he
wouldn't have any time left to cycle!!
Thanks everyone for all your comments I'm going to
visit him tomorrow evening and I'll print them all
off to take with me. Sian XX
|
Wheels!
I always knew those skinny wheels were trouble!
Put some slicks on the Kona and finish off on a
solid bike. Fat Wheels Rule OK!!
Keep going mate we're all rooting for you.
H and J.

Better day today!
Hope you, the Knee and the Bike all work really
well after yesterday for the rest of the ride -

Hi Keef, Never knew you had such gorgeous
knees ! Looks like you could do with feeding up
though looking a bit slim ! Maybe a chichen
dinner ! Keep going your doing really well and
cant wait to hear all about it. Love the pics.
I agree with H & J are you sure that tent is
bigger enough. Take Care x
|
Keep it up Keef!
Fair play mate, shame about the back wheel
incident, at least you have a new hub out of the
deal! Hope the knee dosn't slow you down too
much and best of luck.
P.S in honour of you good self and cause i rode
from Swindon to see a mate in oxford on Sat', 30

money for connor too.Well done !
We"re sure you"ll make it to the end. Enjoy
every minute, regardless of the aches, pains,
adverse weather or any bike issues. An
experience you"ll never forget.

amused and don"t believe their stories, they"re
good at spinning them !)
All the very best. We"ll keep following your

|
I'm exhausted...
... just reading your diary - will you please stop
reversing into cyclists, you're not in the mini
now!! Keep on keeping on, and remember: A bend in
the road is not the end of the road... unless you
fail to make the turn.
|
Inspiration
Keith, you are on the final day of week 1. Your
diary is great to read and allows us to keep up
with your progress. We are inspired by your
attitude and the focus on the ride. You're
brillant! Scotland will soon be on the horizon!
|
Encouragement
Keef, everyone at the clinic is so proud of you
but your counselling team are anxious to ensure
you're taking enough medication to keep your
mood swings under control, remember you're
setting a precedent here for all future out-
patients, don't let them down. I'm sorry the old
problem with your knee has returned, let's hope
your groin strain isn't aggravated, do you have
enough ointment if not we'll get some more from
the veterinary team and have it couriered up to
you.
Best of care mate, keep your wind behind you.
|
THANK YOU!!
Thanks everyone for your continued support with
this adventure! I'm really enjoying reading all
your comments and its really encouraging to know
so many people are behind me. I'm loving the
cycling. Speak to you all soon. Keef.
|
Congratulations
These messages are so encouraging for you, all
of these people are obviously aware as to how
strong willed and awesome you are. Many, many
congratulations and look forward to hearing all
about your experiences - whilst on the bike ride.
You are now homeward bound - it has to get
easier!!
|
Your doing so well....
Keef, i'm exhausted reading everything your
doing, I can only manage to waddle around and
put my feet up! Sorry you had a low day
yesterday, and I hope morale has picked up
today. Lots of lov and best wishes Chloe, Mark
buffy (and bump!) xxx
|
Well done Keith.....fantastic effort.
My best wishes to you Keith. Wish I could have
been with you but you might have found it a bit
harder with a sidecar attached to your cycle!!!
|
Accomodation!
You must be getting soft Keef! Staying in a
Wendy house, it'll be B and B next! Hope the
rain eases off a bit. Enjoy tomorrow through
the Eden Valley. We'll have to take the moutain
bikes up there - there's a wicked descent down
from Cross Fell. Scotland tomorrow, you're on
the home stretch.
Best wishes,
H.
|

|
Lovely to meet you
Hi Keef. Nick and I were really happy to meet you
yesterday. We admire you for doing such a mammoth
bike ride, our couple of hours wiped me out
yesterday so to cycle 70 miles every day for 17
days is really quite something. Keep your spirits
up and keep drinking the guiness and you'll make
it. Best of luck to you. Ride safely.Kate and Nick

Rivington Tea Rooms
Hi Keith, It was good to meet you yesterday and
I'm glad you made it to Clitheroe OK. Yes it
is abit of a pull going over the tops after the
tea rooms but you made it ok. I went to
Rivington barn when I left you (which is well
worth a visit if you're in the area again) and I
think I might have seen you outside the Victoria
pub at Tockholes where you were having a well
deserved jar. Good luck for the rest of your
trip. I think its fantastic what you're doing.
Take care, Joe.
|
Good effort!
It sounds like you're having a fantastic time,
maybe I'lll have to do this next year. And I
thought London to Paris was going to be hard -
you're an Iron Man! The weather must change
soon?! Keep it up, John (Donna's husband)
|
Knees up
We are enjoying your adventures, Keith, and
feeling every knee creak. I hope you can hear the
noise from Oxfordshire as we cheer you on. The
lad done good, as they say in Yorks.
Love, Jo and Brian?
|
Downhill from now.
Keef I'm envious you've got some great scenery
to come after Glasgow. Arrochar up to Rest-and-
be-thankful is a bit of a climb, stop and enjoy
the view, but the descent down into Cairndow is
great. Hope the weather stays good.
Howard.
|
Owe dooooooo!
Cool to see you have got into the 'zone' and
have started to enjoy yourself!? You should have
approached Guiness for sponsorship by the sounds
of it - saved yourself a few quid!
Keep it up!
|
Go boy go.........
Man yer flyin'.....mazin' how well the bloody
thing goes when you let the brakes off, I reckon
they jammed on the big descent on the Cotswold!!
I recommend you now back off the pies and move
on to Haggis but keep up the steady intake of
Guinness and Chips. Everybody but EVERY BODY is
rootin' for you blue, go steady.
|
Great Going
I think it is wonderful what you are doing for
Connor. Dave and I are routing for you. If you
need a rub down with an oily rag when you get
back just let me know! As Nicola is not able to
do anything strenuous at the moment at a push I
will oblige?
|

as though some days have really pushed you to
the limit!! You must feel amazing, and as for
experiencing the great outdoors it can't get
much better, can it??
Great achievement, I wish well for the last few
days, savour every moment, the pain and the
glory.

YOU ARE A STAR! *******
Just packing to go on hols but had to say you

have you. just reading your diaries makes us
hungry: how many food mentions in there? Any
they say the TV adds 10lbs!!! You will be as big
as ian soon!!! Hope the last two days are all
you want them to be. loads of luck and congrats
and see you soon.
|
Hi Keef,
What an achievement!!! And also for such a good
cause! Nobody really knows about all the
struggle and also excitement during such an
adventure unless she/he does it by
herself/himself. Two more days to go, you maybe
will decide to swap the scissors for the bike
forever in the end (???). Good luck to you,
Connor and Sian too.
Looking forward to hear all about it.
Viera?

|

HI there,
Well done Keith!! You"re nearly there and what a
great ride! Such a thrill to do and when you
ride over that finish line the elation will be
overwhelming. Enjoy every minute of the
celebrations,we"re sure you will! Thanks for the
cards. We"ll see you next week. Still going to
cycle to work ?! Ha !?
|
Nearly there
One day to go...what an achievement, we reckon
that, despite your upbeat and positive diary,
you must have had some very low/hard phases and
setbacks to battle through. Place yourself among
the ELITE few of the cycling population to have
done the ride.
Wish that we could be there tomorrow to welcome
you at John O Groat`s. Yesterday, you rode past
our favourite "retreat" - Marnies Croft, which
stands on the hillside above Urquhart Castle
overlooking Loch Ness, [before Drunnadrochit].
We are there in May and Sept each year...outside
the midge season!!! Good luck.....
|
High in Scotland
Man you nearly dere, high up country, pushin'

Erm, hate to tell you this...

back again! Sorry about that, but shouldn't take
you long, and at least you know the way now!!
The sensible travelling is almost over - back to
the mini soon!
Proud of you mate, hope your final day is the best
yet.
